A librarian is assigned as a liaison to each Air University school. The liaison can help you acquire needed materials not in the AUL collections, set up tours or library instructional sessions for classes, and orient you to the services and resources at AUL.
Air University Library offers access to over 100 electronic databases to current AU students and faculty, many of which are available off-base. Click HERE to request a username/password. The request REQUIRES a valid .mil email address. (No commercial email addresses or telephone requests will receive a response). If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the Electronic Services Librarian at 953-8301.
If you need to utilize materials for research that are not in the Library's collection, it is possible to borrow them through Interlibrary Loan. The AU Library does not charge for this service and transactions will take approximately 10 days for receipt of materials. Please complete an online request form. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Interlibrary Loan at 953-7223.
When registering for a library card, identify yourself as faculty, and you will be able to borrow books for up to 90 days. This loan period does not include periodicals, documents, videos, or authority materials. Items may be renewed by telephone at 953-2230.
Librarians are assigned subject and geographic areas for which they conduct literature searches, and at certain intervals publish Subject Research Guides. Subject Resource Guides (Current) and Bibliographies (1988-2013) are valuable starting points for your curriculum development. For further information contact the Chief Bibliographer at 953-5042.
The AUL webpage offers curriculum support pages for each of the schools. This service is managed by the school liaisons who coordinate with AU faculty. To see your school curriculum assistance page select AU School Support on the AUL homepage. Find your school under AU Student Support on the left. Contact your school liaison at 953-5042 if you require assistance.
The AU Library solicits input from the faculty for material purchases. Complete identification of items is requested, and you will be notified when the items have been received and processed.
