Springshare and AFPIMS can shortcut URLs when linking to its own platform. If this shortened URL is copied to another platform the item will not load because it does not recognize the native shortcut URL. Copy the full target URL when posting to AFPIMS, ILL, and EZProxy. Example: "/Library" versus "https://www.airuniversity.af.edu/Library/"
Bootstrap and Fontawesome:
AFPIMS and ILLIAD have added bootstrap stylesheets to their pages, so it is no longer necessary to add them ourselves.
As of 20220110 AFPIMS updated their bootstrap and fontawesome versions, which prevents all searchbar and some widget cross-compatibility with Springshare.
All three platforms now use different fontawesome versions from one another. If icons are not displaying on a page, check if they are using the correct classes for the specific fontawesome stylesheet version.
Widgets:
Libchat
The homepage chat widget in Springshare is named: “AFPIMS Floater”. The widget’s code is inserted in the “ALMA (Staff)” module at the bottom of the AUL homepage. Other chat widgets are scattered across AUL’s libguides by other staff as buttons, slideouts, or popups.
Searchbar
The standard Air Force templates enclose the AUL homepage within a <form>, which breaks the AUL search bar since the web does not support “nested” forms. To get around this, add </form> in the header portion of the search bar’s module or use a ‘blank’ template. (AUL now uses a ‘blank’ template as of JAN2022)
Several searchbar widgets were added to Springshare to keep the look and feel of the homepage’s tabbed searchbar consistent. (NOTE: As of JAN2022 the AUL homepage searchbar is no longer cross compatible with Springshare due to bootstrap version conflicts.) There are three variants of the “full” searchbar as well as two “tiny” versions that do not contain tabs. These can all be found in Libguide Assets as:

PRIMO_VE AULIMP Search full (Focuses the AULIMP tab by default)

IMPORTANT: When adding a widget to a libguide, DO NOT check the box that says ‘make a copy’. LEAVE THE BOX UNCHECKED so you map to the original. If you make a ‘copy’ then we will start to accumulate duplicate widgets which won’t be updated when changes are made to the original.
Quick Links
Several ‘quick link’ assets (similar to that on the AFPIMS homepage) can be found in Springshare which are mainly used for Canvas-embedded school libguides. These assets are a standard box of shortcut buttons plus a link to a specific school’s Library login handout link. These widgets can be found in Libguide Assets as:

All darkmode CSS elements added in ALMA (Staff) module.
Should be pretty straightforward to adapt to Springshare. Kristen and Matthew expressed some interest in working on this.
January2022 AF-wide web template update
The latest update to the AFPIMS web platform completed the week of 10JAN2022. This was a large cosmetic and back-end utilities update. See below for the full changelog performed by AUL:
Banner
Created new AUL logo to replace AUL shield and text
AUL 'prop and wings' graphic width increased to 30% (other AUL platforms are 20%)
Set z-index of graphic to '1' so navbar visually overlaps (navbar is 5)
Font in title graphic updated to AF 'Ethnocentric'
Added phone icon to header icons with ref desk # as alt text and linked to the 'Contact Us' page

75% relative top positioning for better fitment with AUL logo
