The Cartographic Information Section of Air University Library enhances the educational function of Air University by providing maps and charts to students, faculty, and staff in residence at Maxwell/Gunter as well as AFJROTC and AFROTC detachments throughout the United States. The 400,000+ item collection contains current maps and charts in both paper and digitized formats. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), formerly known as the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) are the primary sources of maps in the inventory. Secondary sources are the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the state of Alabama.
Maps, charts and other cartographic information are issued to students and staff of Air University for official use. Requests are accepted from qualified users by filling out the map request form below. If you need assistance, you may review Our Service Policy or call (334) 953-2230.
