The principal reason for citing materials is to acknowledge and give credit to the ideas and work of others. By citing your sources, you identify the material and offer your readers an opportunity to examine it for themselves.
This guide provides resources for formatting citations of electronic media such as websites, articles from full-text databases, and ebooks. As these resources are standard resources, they are also the ones used for citing printed sources. These resources are not mutually compatible. Citation style differs according to the academic discipline. At Air University, the AU Style and Author Guide is based on the Chicago Manual.
