The theme for this event is Competencies: Understanding, Modeling, Implementation and Measures. The resources under t\his tab do not provide a comprehensive listing of sources but is intended to be a starting point from which students attendees can begin their research according to their specific needs. Developed by Headquarters, Air Education and Training Command A3J team, Air Force Handbook 36-2647 includes a validated competency-modeling framework that is scalable, reliable, and repeatable to assist career fields in developing their occupational competency models. It also outlines the service’s 24 foundational competencies, a combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics manifesting in an observable, measurable pattern of behaviors that improves an Airman’s performance.
